I have been to so many places and I have tried buffet on different restaurants in Manila. Sometimes you'll feel that it's so affordable because there are so many selections and your cravings were satisfied. Yet sometimes, you'll feel that it will drill a hole in your pocket specially if you're not a true blooded food fanatic. It has been our habit (Miguel and I) to check the restaurants with eat-all-you can deals. Ofcourse, aside from the variety selection of dishes you can choose from, you can eat and eat until you're all bloated and you wanna go home and promise yourself that you will not look at any food for the next 5 days.

Yakimix - Sushi-Smokeless Grill-Restaurant is definitely a place I can recommend everyone to go to. For only PHP 480 during lunch on weekdays and 580 on dinners and Sundays, you will definitely enjoy the wide range of Asian cuisine, from sushi to siomai to hotdogs to ice cream and even more!

It has three branches as of the moment - Tomas Morato, Q.C., SM Mall of Asia, and HK Sun Plaza along Macapagal Avenue.

What's good about Yakimix is you get most of the dishes fresh and you grill it in your table. So, it's up to you if you want your beef well-done or half done. You will never be full right away because you'll get tired of grilling and waiting for your meat and veggies to be cooked.

If you are craving for Japanese cuisine, there's sushi, sashimi, stir-fried octopus, shrimp, and a lot more. If you want Chinese, there's yang chow rice, sweet and sour pork, chicken and corn soup, seafood roll, and so on. You can feel Korean too by checking out beansprout kimchi, white raddish kimchi, among others. The best part of 'em all for me is the different taste of beef and pork strips. I'm a big beef fan. So I enjoyed grilling beef strips in teriyaki sauce, and veggies rolled into tiny beef strips the most.

And if you get tired of eating grilled food, there are also a variety of mouth-watering dessert you can pick from. They have cakes, tarts, fruits and even ice cream with different toppings.

The only thing that will hinder you from going to Yakimix is having to wait for an hour or so to be served , but I can guarantee you, it's worth the wait and worth every penny you've spent.

no-cook strawberry fridge cake

Looks delicious right??? Well, strawberry fridge cake is really easy to do, you can do it in 30 minutes or less, wait for it to cool down, and you're good to go! and it's hassle free for it's a NO-COOK RECIPE. Try it!

☼ WHAT YOU NEED ☼

3-4 tablespoons strawberry jam
10 pieces medium sized frozen strawberries
4 cups graham cracker crumbs (or crushed graham crackers)
1 and 1/2 cups milk
2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed

☼ DIRECTIONS ☼

Pour thawed whipped cream, milk and stir until perfectly mixed. Add the strawberry jam and continue on stirring until blended thoroughly. Then set aside.
Arrange the crashed graham crackers in a rectangular pan. Pour the blended mixture on the first layer, and once fully covered, make another layer of graham cracker crumbs, pour in the blended mixture. Continue doing this until you finish off the remaining ingredients.
Arrange fresh strawberries decoratively on top of the cake, place the cake inside your fridge and let it chill for an hour or two... and you're ready to serve it!! ☺

Cookies and Cream Shake

I love shakes! I bet you do, most specially during summer when you are perspiring after lounging at the beach practically the entire day under that oh so bright sun or after running an errand. Just feeling that cold beverage drip through your throat will surely make your day!

Well, for those addicted to cookies and cream ice cream, here's how you do milk shake-cookies and cream way at the comforts of your home:

3/4 cups milk (skimmed preferably)
1 small pack of Oreo cookies, crashed
1/2 pint ice cream (vanilla flavor)
1/2 teaspoon mint extract

→ How to do it: ←

Pour the vanilla flavored ice cream,milk and mint extract in the blender until the mixture are well blended. Then add the cookies, blend for another 10-15 seconds and prepare.

That's it!!

So simple right??? No need to go a coffee shop and spend extra when you can do it at home, same taste, and sometimes even better!!!! You can make 3 at the price of 1!! ☺

Filipino Dishes to Die for

I'M PROUD TO BE A FILIPINO!! I LOVE Filipino dishes. I also love western dishes but since I'm a Filipino by heart, I crave for Filipino food more than anything else. There are variety of dishes that we are proud of that I am 100% sure you'll love as well.

So, what are the signature dishes of Filipinos?

Lechon(Suckling pork) - This originated from Spain. But somehow has been one of the traditional food that you'll find on occasions like weddings, birthdays, Christenings, house warming, reunions, etc. This dish is roasting a whole pig over charcoal. Result is a very crispy skin and a tender meat inside. It is served with sweet spicy gravy sauce. Just don't eat lechon too much or your blood pressure will go up.

Sinigang na Baboy (Pork with Vegetables in Tamarind Soup)- This one of my ultimate favorites. You can also use beef, or shrimp(which I'm allergic to) to make a good Sinigang. It is simple to cook, you just have to make sure the meat is tender, tehn add the tamarind soup, throw in the veggies like string beans, kangkong(Chinese Water Spinach), onions, tomatoes, raddish, and you have your delicious Sinigang.

Karekare (Ox stripe in peanut sauce) - For me, Karekare is one of the challenging recipe's to cook. Unless you want to use the instant karekare paste, then it is just a breeze. Sauce should be purely made of grounded nuts and peanut butter. Add vegetables like string beans, pechay (Chinese cabbage), eggplant, chopped garlic and bagoong (Shrimp paste--which, again, I'm allergic to so I do away with it) You would often see it on get-together's and big events. You can use pork or beef as alternate to ox stripe.

Beef Caldereta (Spicy Beef Stew in Tomato Sauce) - This is my number one favorite. I just can't never get enough of beef Caldereta. I believe this dish is not originally fromthe Philippines. Correct me if I'm wrong, it's a Spanish or Mexican cuisine. But somehow, it has been considered as part of our native dishes. I also love cooking this heavenly spicy stew. You can also use pork as substitute. You just add loads of bellpeppers, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots and the works! You'll love it I swear!.

Lumpiang Sariwa (Fresh Spring/Egg Roll)- You will definitely love this food. This is just simply like a wrap stuffed with vegetables. Bean sprouts, carrots, string beans, potatoes and lettuce, then garnish with peanut sauce. You'll have one hell of a good experience trying Filipino's pride.

This is just a relatively new blog site but I also have several blog sites that I have been maintaining for the past months. After succeeding in creating a new web site, your next goal is to drive traffic. People will not visit your blog sites just by making articles or blog posts and then let people find it. Sure, someone will find your site eventually, but you have to wait for a long period of time.

I'm not a guru, but based from my experience and according to people I know who are into internet marketing, there are ways that you can drive targeted market to your blog site.

Write at least four to five articles of the same topic. Topics should be related to your website. Include links and submit your articles to blog directories and webmasters. Masternewmedia has the widest range of articles listed.
Promote your blog site by sending emails to everyone you know-your family, relatives, friends, colleagues, even friends of your friends!
Join forums. Please DO NOT SPAM! Add your profile, make some intelligent comments (Not just saying "great post", "kudos" or what have you) and add links to your site. Try Blogdigger or Blogs by City.
Read other blogs to get ideas and not to COPY their ideas. Comment on other's post and hope they will reciprocate the gesture.
Set up an account to popular social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace or Multiply. Add on your profile page links to your site.
You can also set up an account and create your own page, create articles at some sites like HUBPAGES and SQUIDOO. They are just like blog sites but I consider those above-mentioned sites a little like a social networking site but are homes of aspiring writers. (I have an account on both.)
Commit on creating articles or blog posts on a regular basis. Try to make at least 3 to 4 articles per week, it's better if you can write an article everyday. Creating am article will just take you at least 10 to 30 minutes if you're not doing something else like checking other web sites.
Put informative contents on your site. No one will check it out unless it will benefit them, right? Make your articles as interesting, as creative and as sensible as you can.
Add nice photos and videos to capture the interest of the visitors. DO NOT use copyrighted photos and clips.
Dress your site with blogger templates and widgets.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Search engine drives a lot of traffic on the web. SEO is how you will rank on the first ten on top search engines. If you really are into online marketing, you should really aim to be on the first page of popular search engines like GOOGLE, ALTAVISTA or YAHOO SEARCH.
